Special Olympics Washington Athlete Auditions for 'American Idol'
SEATTLE, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Special Olympics Washington (SOWA) applauds the efforts of Jonathan Jayne for his recent audition on the reality program "American Idol." Jayne is a longtime SOWA athlete who competes in multiple sports with the City of Renton Parks and Recreation program.
The vision of Special Olympics is to help bring persons with intellectual disabilities into the larger society under conditions whereby they are accepted, respected and given the chance to become useful and productive citizens. "We hope that everyone can learn to be more accepting and inclusive of persons with different abilities," said Jill Ward, Public Relations Director for Special Olympics Washington.
