Adrienne Shelly Foundation Announces Advisory Board
PARK CITY, Utah, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Adrienne Shelly Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the memory of writer/director/actor Adrienne Shelly, has been established by her husband, Andy Ostroy, who will serve as its executive director. With a focus on women, the organization's mission is to award grants to help finance student films and independent film projects; supplement film school scholarships and awards, and to produce readings of deserving scripts. Other Foundation initiatives will be announced over time.
"I know what Adrienne would want most would be to help women get a chance to pursue their dream," said Ostroy. "Through the Foundation, we will not only help young women get their start in film, but we'll help others make the transition from acting to directing, as Adrienne had done so successfully."
During a "Pie Breakfast" here this morning at the Delta Sky Lodge, hosted by GenArt and with gourmet pies provided by Bubby's New York, the organization announced the members of its Advisory Board, who will meet in early February to determine how they will field applications, award grants and select scripts.
