Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Extends Multiyear E-Commerce Partnership with GSI Commerce

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GSI Commerce Inc. (NASDAQ:GSIC), a leading provider of e-commerce solutions, and PBS, a media enterprise that serves 354 public noncommercial television stations and reaches almost 90 million people each week through on-air and online content, have extended their multiyear e-commerce partner agreement for ShopPBS.com.

"GSI allows us to focus our efforts on our merchandising and content strengths," said Andrea Downing, vice president of home entertainment and partnerships for PBS. "The result for us is that we can select from new features and functions that best fit our needs and use them to help drive our e-commerce business. We are excited to extend our relationship with GSI Commerce," Downing said.

In 2003, PBS moved its online business from an aging platform it was operating in-house and launched its new e-commerce business on GSI's platform. Since partnering with GSI, PBS has added, among many initiatives, co-branded boutique shops with affiliate stations, expanded its customer outreach and demand generation efforts, launched a repeat purchase program, and added online marketing and gift cards. More recently, PBS and GSI have redesigned PBS' product page, began offering alternative payment options, introduced guest checkout and implemented Web store analytics and measurement reporting.

"We are constantly adding scale and scope to our integrated e-commerce platform, which provides our partners with an expanding list of features, functions and services they can use to grow their e-commerce businesses," said Steve Davis, senior vice president of partner services for GSI Commerce. "We are excited to continue our partnership with PBS and we look forward to helping them to expand their capabilities as they continue to take their multichannel business to a higher level," Davis added.
