Nintendo Wii Users' Overwhelming Response to Orb MyCasting Service Drives Enhancements

Nintendo Wii Users' Overwhelming Response to Orb MyCasting Service Drives Enhancements

Orb Networks Unveils New TV Interface, Creating the Ultimate in Personal Broadcasting of Digital Media for Gamers

EMERYVILLE, Calif., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Four weeks after Nintendo(R) opened up the Internet browser on its Wii(TM) console, more than 50,000 gamers have discovered Orb Network's MyCasting(TM) service, which is a simple way to enjoy all of the digital entertainment on the home PC directly on the living room TV screen using Orb's software as the bridge. Responding to the fast-growing user base, Orb created a new TV interface for gaming enthusiasts developed from feedback by gamers in Orb's Wii support forums and Wii blogs.

"Wii users are really getting into using Orb: watching YouTube(TM) videos and listening to their music on their TVs. But they want a simple interface to make it easier to navigate with the Wii remote -- so we designed one quickly and launched it today," said Joe Costello, Chairman and CEO of Orb Networks. "The experience continues to be about simplicity and when you have 50,000 people starting to use your service over such a short period of time, we want them to know we're listening and responding."

Orb's free software allows you to enjoy all digital media from your home PC, as well as online videos from the growing source of Internet TV and content sites on any other networked device with an internet browser -- be it other PCs, lap tops, PDAs or mobile phones with streaming players and TV with the Wii. In addition, Orb announced last week that they also had developed a way for Sony PS3 gamers to also enjoy their personal digital media on their PC directly on their TV as well.

How Orb Works with the Nintendo Wii:
1) Download the free Opera Internet browser available at
www.wii.nintendo.com onto your Wii game console.
2) Download Orb at www.orb.com onto your on always-on Windows PC at home.
It takes less than 3 minutes to do. To ensure you get the new TV
interface you must have Orb Version 2.0 or higher.
3) Turn on your TV and access the Wii main menu. Select the Internet
Channel when connected to the Internet and open the browser.
4) Using your Wii remote, log onto your Orb account through Wii at
mycast.orb.com . That's it. Now enjoy, watch and listen to any digital
content on your home PC -- videos, music, Internet TV and radio or any
other online content you programmed in your Orb MyCast application:
they are now all airing on your TV screen.

How Orb Works

Orb's MyCasting service turns the home PC into a personal broadcasting system, and lets users build and organize their own "channels" to enjoy their music, photos, video, TV, documents and other extras, using the devices they already own. The free software is downloaded onto an always-on home PC; there is no Orb player software download required or other add-ons to install on the device used. Once the Orb MyCasting application is installed, the user can use most any Internet-connected device with a streaming media player to stream their media content -- be it live or recorded TV, music, videos and photos -- anytime, anyplace.
