Launches 'LX.TV 1ST/ LOOK: NYC' on New York's WNBC's Digital Channel, WNBC 4.4
First-Ever Original Web Video to Become Broadcast Television Show Premieres Today on WNBC 4.4
NEW YORK, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- LX.TV Life/Style Television (www.lx.com), the broadband television network for affluent consumers, and WNBC HD, the first local New York station to broadcast in high-definition, have partnered to air LX.TV's "LX.TV 1ST/LOOK: NYC," a daily 30 minute series highlighting New York, on WNBC HD's digital channel, WNBC 4.4, it was announced today by Frank Comerford, President and General Manager, WNBC HD and Morgan Hertzan, Chief Creative Officer and executive producer, LX.TV. The program, hosted by LX.TV personality Sara Gore, features New York's hottest destinations, including the best in nightlife, restaurants, shopping, kids activities, fitness and wellness. Beginning today, the program will air M-Su, on WNBC 4.4 (Time Warner Ch. 732, Comcast Ch. 249, Cablevision Ch. 109 NY/NJ, Ch. 118 CT) at 8 a.m., 11 p.m., and 2 a.m. New episodes will be introduced each week, as well as repeat airings on WNBC HD.
"LX.TV 1ST/LOOK: NYC" marks the first time content originally made for the web will be packaged into a regularly scheduled recurring series for broadcast on network television. LX.TV video has been available on WNBC.com since October 2006, through NBBC.
The premiere episode of "LX.TV 1ST/LOOK: NYC" will take viewers on a night out in NYC, followed by an introduction of places to recover afterward. In addition, the show will feature three new restaurants (Gusto, Porter House and Farm on Adderly), three new nightlife spots (Honey, Brewskee Ball, and Vino Vino) and three ways to relax after a night on the town (Thai Privilege Spa, Soul Cycle and Pratima Spa). George Oliphant, Wendy Fentress, Cecile Raubenheimer and Pedro Andrade are correspondents for the series and LX.TV. Future episodes will explore exercise, kids activities, weekend escapes and shopping.
