Haydenfilms 2.0 Film Festival Winner Announced
KUTZTOWN, Pa., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- John Burgess, a 2005 graduate of USC's School of Cinema-Television took home the $10,000 grand prize last week at the Haydenfilms 2.0 Film Festival Awards Ceremony for his film "The Powder Puff Principle." The winner was announced at a gala event held at New York's Directors Guild Theatre on January 11, 2007, sponsored by Z-CoiL and Miller Lite.
The other Season Two finalists in competition for the grand prize were: "Facing East" directed by Dana Palmer of New York City; "Photograph" directed by Sarah Lambert of Melbourne, Australia; and "The Rebel" directed by Josef Wladyka of Washington, D.C. All four festival finalists received software prize packages contributed by Write Brothers, Akimbo, Avid and Adobe. In summing up the event, Hayden Craddolph, president and CEO of Haydenfilms LLC, stated, "We are very excited about continuing to cultivate new relationships in 2007 with emerging independent filmmakers, with new technology partners, with progressive film festivals, and with sponsors that share our vision."
A native of Chicago, IL, Burgess began his film career as an intern in the marketing and publicity department of Lucasfilm Ltd., and has worked as a producer with RPD Entertainment on interactive game commercials for Tom Clancy's Red Storm Entertainment and Konami. He is the co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of The CinemaFactory, a Los Angeles-based production company.
