DayZ Loop Announces New Online TV Network for Teen Girls

DayZ Loop Announces New Online TV Network for Teen Girls

WASHINGTON, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- DayZ Loop announced today the release of its new online community for teen girls. DayZLoop.com is the first online infotainment television network that touches on all facets of teen girls' lives. Through channels titled Deco, Subciety, Life-Mode, Shine, E-topia and Cash-Flow, the site provides meaningful, relevant content for 13- to 17-year- old girls. DayZ Loop is a virtual environment where teens can watch video content, as well as participate in spiritual, practical, artistic, cultural and fun online activities.

DayZ Loop's target audience is more than 12 million girls nationwide. Ceca Mijatovic, company founder and CEO, says that the market of 13- to 17- year-old girls is underserved. That leads her to believe that a well- supported service like DayZ Loop can compete and succeed.

"Too often, teen girls are undermined by media's focus on physical appearance and the more superficial aspects of life," Ceca says. "Although teen girls enjoy fun and entertainment, they have lots of opinions on politics, ethnicity, racism, sexuality and society as a whole. They also need help in grappling with issues surrounding body image, sex and intimacy, and peer-pressure. This community strikes a balance between education and fun."

Content is delivered via online video mini-series; online workshops, discussions and forums; and news and articles. The platform uses advanced technology, and fully incorporates numerous tools for peer-to-peer interaction and collaboration with the hosts. It is a fusion of a TV network, teen magazine, interactive Internet tools and mobile technology, integrated into one comprehensive online offering.

Users select cartoon-like images, or "avatars," of themselves prior to entering one of the six hangout places, where they can then join in workshops, events, support groups and socializing. "The DayZ Avatar Girls have been a great hit," says Ceca. Unlike other social networking sites, DayZ Loop offers a collection of avatars that spans across all body types and ethnicities, validating and simulating a real-life experience.

Events hosted by experts range from an "Eating Disorders Q&A" to a "Do-It- Yourself" workshop. And users can generate content, too: teen girl subscribers can blog, participate in forums, post their photos and videos. They can also take part in contests, while accumulating points which can be redeemed for DayZ Loop merchandise and show appearances.

DayZ Loop membership is by referral only, and the service is available through an annual paid subscription. By making payments, girls commit to using the service and visiting the site on a regular basis. Charging for membership decreases fraud and discourages predators from joining. Safety and privacy are taken seriously to ensure that the subscribers' experience is in harmony with the law and the rights of others.

DayZ Loop draws its revenue primarily from corporate advertising partners, though some revenue comes from subscribers. Renee Steiger, DayZ Loop's vice president for sales and strategic alliances, says, "Benefits to sponsors include expanding or beginning online market presence, as well as being a player in the fastest growing and most promising advertising medium today."

"DayZ Loop allows companies to access targeted reach to an attentive market with substantial buying power and influence, and extends brand awareness to the next generation of adult consumers," Renee says. Corporate sponsors can participate in this highly integrated advertising via several options: placing ads on big screens located in the hangout places; sponsoring weekly TV show segments; donating a product or service for a contest; and/or supplying high-quality relevant content to be delivered directly to the DayZ Loop audience.

The strength of this type of community is in its organic origin and growth. There must be a perception among the constituents that this is a "from-girls-for-girls" service. Ceca says, "The online users are more inclined to participate and build trusted peer-to-peer communities, than to be 'spoon-fed' by traditional media content. This is where brand recognition is actually hurting the established media groups."

"What's proven more successful," she adds, "is developing a brand with a focused, 'user-centric,' bottom-up approach, geared toward a highly defined and closed community -- as Facebook has done."

DayZ Loop's strategy greatly complements Big Media Corporations, which can leverage the DayZ Loop community for integrated advertising and market research -- without bearing liability and risk.

While the DayZ Loop business model brings many opportunities, Ceca is committed to the company's mission: "We aspire to positively impact female youth development and growth, and empower all teen girls to live a life of significance!"
