KTLA/CW Celebrates 60th Year of Emmy Award Winning Rose Parade Coverage

George Lucas, Katherine McPhee, the Oakridge Boys, Marie Osmond Set to Participate in 118th Annual Rose Parade

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Force will be with us as George Lucas serves as the Grand Marshal of the Rose Parade on January 1, 2007. KTLA/CW will be front and center for their 60th year -- with veteran host Bob Eubanks and "KTLA Morning Show" co-anchor Michaela Pereira providing live, commercial free coverage.

KTLA/CW, the first commercial broadcast television station west of the Mississippi, was also the first station to broadcast the parade in 1947. For over 30 consecutive years, KTLA/CW's live broadcast has been one of the Southland's highest rated, locally produced programs on par with the Super Bowl and the Academy Awards.

The Rose Parade has always centered on good-natured fun and this year will be no exception with the theme "Our Good Nature." Parade highlights include:

* Katherine McPhee, the 2006 "American Idol" runner-up will perform live
on the Lifesource Water float.
* Actor James Garner, Tony Award winner Kristen Chenoweth and the
reigning Miss America, Jennifer Berry will help the state of Oklahoma
celebrates its 100th year of statehood.
* The Oakridge Boys will perform on the NAMM float.
* Marie Osmond will ride on the FTD float.
* A stunt man wearing a James Bond-inspired rocket pack will fly up and
down Colorado Boulevard (Oklahoma float).
* Pyrotechnics and a fly over of Air Force B-2 jet, the Spirit Stealth
Bomber, will pay tribute to those who have sacrificed for the freedom
we enjoy as a conclusion to the opening ceremony.

About The Hosts

Bob Eubanks wrote television history for four decades as host of The Newlywed Game. He has also served host for game shows on all three networks and was voted one of the top five game show hosts of all time by TV Guide.

Michaela Pereira, co-host of the KTLA Morning Show joins Bob again this year for the Rose Parade. As one of five adopted girls, Michaela believes passionately in giving back. She is extremely active in the LA community -- whether it's serving Thanksgiving meals at the LA Mission, working with The Boys & Girls Club, Friends of Child Advocates or LA's BEST -- Michaela is out and about working with our community.

Pereira has been the recipient of awards too numerous to name, including several Emmy Awards and nominations, a Golden Mike Award from the Radio and Television News Association, two APTRA Awards from the Associated Press, Los Angeles Press Club Award and more.
