DreamWorks Studios Names Jeff Small as Chief Operating Officer

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- DreamWorks Studios has named Jeff Small as Chief Operating Officer, it was announced today by Stacey Snider, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Small comes to DreamWorks direct from Revolution where he was their COO.

At Revolution, Small oversaw business and legal affairs, finance, physical production, and administration.

Commenting on Small's segue from Revolution, Chairman Joe Roth said, "Jeff has been with us at Revolution from the beginning six and a half years ago. He has excelled at every challenge from banking to administration to chief financial officer. He really blossomed over the past year when he became our COO. At only 32 years old, Jeff has the most promising future of any young business executive that I have worked with. Stacey Snider and DreamWorks are getting a welcome addition to their family. We will certainly miss him here."

Snider personally thanked Roth for making it possible for Small to start at DreamWorks as early as this week.

Before joining Revolution, Small spent several years with Universal Studios beginning in the corporate development group where he played key roles in mergers and acquisitions across film, television, and music areas, including the acquisitions of Polygram and the USA Network. He then transitioned to Universal Pictures as Director of Business Development where he was responsible for sourcing and analyzing new business opportunities and financing packages.

He began his career in the Walt Disney Company Motion Picture Group, specializing in studio planning and financial analysis. He is a graduate of Stanford University and a native of Marietta, Georgia.

DreamWorks Studios was formed in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen. The company won three consecutive Best Picture Academy Awards with "American Beauty," "Gladiator" and "A Beautiful Mind" (both co-produced with Universal.) Among the company's other successes have been such films as "Saving Private Ryan" (co-produced with Paramount), "The Ring," "Catch Me If You Can," "Minority Report" (co-produced with 20th Century Fox), and "War of the Worlds" (co-produced with Paramount).
