NBC 10 Announces Its New and Exciting News Lineup for 4, 5 and 6 PM
BALA CYNWYD, Pa., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- NBC 10 is always committed to moving forward and meeting the ever-changing needs of our viewers. Whether it's creating the first and #1 web site, or the only daily, Philadelphia-originated entertainment/lifestyle show (with a live studio audience), or producing a 10 PM newscast for WPHL Channel 17, or coming to your neighborhoods to help you shred confidential documents, or providing 10 years of free health screenings and healthy-lifestyle activities at our annual 'Fit Fest,' we always strive to think outside the box and go beyond the call of duty to serve our viewers.
With that in mind, we are pleased to announce that NBC 10 is once again leading the way in providing new, useful, forward-looking ways to serve our Greater Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, Southern New Jersey and Delaware viewers.
In an effort to 1) provide our viewers with real, substantive choices in afternoon news and information programming, 2) use our incredible resources to provide tangible benefit to those viewers turning to NBC 10, 3) further showcase our un-matched leadership in hard-hitting investigate reporting and our staff of tireless, talented reporters, and 4) take advantage of our ground-breaking partnership with the incredible journalists at The Philadelphia Inquirer -- we are shaking things up and vastly improving what's available between 4PM and 6:30PM to viewers across the region. (These changes will be staggered, and rolled out over the next few weeks.)
At 4 PM ... Tracy Davidson kicks off the afternoon news block with "All That and More" - a consumer-driven information hour anchored by one of the most respected consumer reporters in the country. Our viewers will not only get the most comprehensive consumer reporting in Philadelphia, they will also get more health news from Medical Reporter Cherie Bank - from the latest breakthroughs, to advice from the experts, to the inspirational stories that Cherie tells so well. The mission is to give viewers a sense of empowerment -- and the tools to make informed decisions. In addition, news updates will be provided throughout the hour from NBC 10's Tim Lake.
At 5 PM ... Vince DeMentri anchors an hour of news that will showcase NBC 10's team of talented reporters. The focus will be on quality, not quantity - well told, in-depth stories that go beyond the sound bite. Reporters will have more time to dig deeper and give their stories more perspective on the issues that challenge us and really matter to our daily lives. Vince will interact with our journalists after every story to give our viewers more insight to the newsgathering process - a "reporter's notebook." The 5 PM newscast will also rely heavily on our award-winning Investigative team and their hard-hitting reporting. We'll also be featuring the reporting of our colleagues at The Philadelphia Inquirer in a segment we call "Beyond the Headlines."
At 6 PM ... Tim Lake takes over the anchor desk for a newscast that will focus heavily on the big local news of the day. With NBC 10's vast, re-focused resources, we will continue to cover the Delaware Valley like no one else can. This newscast will also continue to be the home to our "6:15" segment, which features a longer form, highly promotable news story.
And at 11 PM ... we will continue to provide the Delaware Valley's premier Late Newscast, led by the Philadelphia region's most trusted and respected team, Renee Chenault-Fattah and Tim Lake. We are thankful and fortunate that Renee -- who wanted to step back from some of her anchor commitments and spend more time with her family -- will continue to be a leader for us at 11 PM.
Our promise is to continue to lead the way in providing news, information and help to people throughout the region in a variety of ways. We are proud of the work we do and we hope you continue to turn to NBC 10.
