Emerging Indie Band's New Album, Eat, Sleep, Repeat, Enters Billboard Top 200 at #90
NEW YORK, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia Records has signed Copeland, the emerging indie pop-rock band whose latest album, Eat, Sleep, Repeat, has just entered the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart at #90.
Released on October 31, with first week's sales of more than 11,000 pieces, Eat, Sleep, Repeat is Copeland's highest charting album to-date. In Motion, the group's last full-length album, peaked at #115 on the Billboard Top 200 shortly after its release in March 2005.
Originally formed in Florida in 2000, Copeland's core lineup is: Aaron Marsh (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Bryan Laurenson (guitar, piano), James Likeness (bass, vocals), and Jonathan Bucklew (drums). The group relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2002 and signed with The Militia Group, a Southern California independent record company distributed through RED Distribution. Released in 2003, Copeland's first full-length album, Beneath Medicine Tree, found resonance and poetry in medical themes and metaphors, quickly establishing the group as an important new voice in American pop musical culture. The group's next album, 2005's In Motion, reached #4 on Billboard's Heatseekers new artist chart and #8 on the Top Independent Albums chart.
Over the past six years, Copeland has developed an ever-growing and avidly attentive fanbase. The group's profile on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/copeland) has received more than 1,350,000 views to- date while Copeland tracks have accrued nearly 3.5 million myspace plays.
