Woo Agency Makes Music With Kenpo Jacket for iPod(R)

CULVER CITY, Calif., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Woo Agency has just produced a music video-style commercial for Kenpo Fashion's new line, Kenpo Jacket for iPod(R). This line of products marries fashion and technology by integrating a one-of-a-kind fabric iPod control system woven onto the jacket sleeves.

Woo Agency was tapped for this project because of their ability to capture an audience's imagination while demonstrating product capabilities, particularly in the technology category. Last year's successful Convertible Notebook television campaign for Gateway, which effectively showcased the functionality and benefits of a tablet PC, was a recent example of this. Woo's experience with fashion brands including Yanuk Jeans and Rampage was also a factor in choosing the Culver City-based ad shop.

The Kenpo video, which launched at MAGIC on the main stage and is rolling out in JC Penney's stores nationwide, features two rough-looking guys who meet in an alley. Instead of fighting, the guys compete in a dance-off, all the while effectively demonstrating the functionality of the Kenpo iPod jacket. Directed by Shawn Pillar, producer/director of TNT's "The Dead Zone" and "Wildfire," the Kenpo video fuses the raw energy of the street with hypnotic hip-hop beats and lyrics. An extended version of this video will also appear on the Internet as part of the new Kenpo campaign, with music by Miami-based rapper and producer Nacho Typical.
