While President Bush's job approval ratings may be negative these days, First Lady Laura Bush continues to receive high marks with a majority of U-S adults. Laura Bush's ratings as First Lady exceed those of the President and even those of the most popular cabinet member, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Since 2001, Laura Bush's ratings have remained high, declining only slightly in May 2004 when a 69 percent majority rated her performance positively. These are some of the results of a nationwide Harris Poll.
