WQED Teams Up With Rust Records To Produce Special DVD
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Take one Super Bowl quarterback. Add one of the hottest country breakout bands in America. Throw in a pig roast, a summer party, and the gridiron of Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and what is the end result?
A half-hour, behind-the-scenes look at Pittsburgh Steeler Ben Roethlisberger's music video debut with Pittsburgh's own PovertyNeck Hillbillies during this past summer's production of what is now one of the country's most popular music videos.
"Mr. Right Now: The PovertyNeck Hillbillies and Big Ben Make A Video" premieres on Emmy-award-winning WQED in Pittsburgh, Friday October 20 at 7:30pm. WQED was invited to exclusively tape the behind-the-scenes making of the video which was turned into a half-hour look at the madcap two-day video shoot.
The PovertyNeck Hillbillies built a fervent fan base in their native Pennsylvania based on their wild, charismatic performances, muscular and melodic playing, and their catchy crowd-pleasing songs. They're now expanding their rapidly growing audience nationwide as "Mr. Right Now" blazes up the music charts. The music video debuted at #2 on September 15 on the Great American Country Countdown and has remained there since.
In addition to the October 20 premiere, WQED, Rust Records, and Cort Productions also are releasing a DVD that features the television program and the complete "Mr. Right Now" music video. The DVD contains 30-minutes of bonus features not seen in the show, including a live concert performance of "Mr. Right Now," interviews with the band, and a tour of the PovertyNeck bus.
A segment from the Emmy-nominated documentary about the band that WQED produced last year is also included. It is entitled "Pittsburgh's Country Break-Out Band" and WQED received a 2005 Emmy nomination for it.
The DVD of the show is available for $14.98 plus shipping and handling and applicable sales tax. Order from SHOP WQED at www.wqed.org or call 1-800-274- 1307.
