Over 1,000 Parties Scheduled for Guests to Get a 'Taste of TiVo' & View Two New Movie Trailers for Highly Anticipated Films Arthur & The Invisibles and Bobby

ALVISO, Calif., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- After years of bringing people together in living rooms across America for Super Bowl parties, Oscar parties, and countless viewing parties of every kind, TiVo is offering its fans the first opportunity to share their passion for the invention they credit with changing their lives with their wider circles of friends and family at official TiVo Tasting Parties. At these parties, which will be held in cities across the nation on Saturday September 30th, TiVo subscribers will offer a Taste of TiVo -- fun-filled parties for their friends who have heard of the TiVo service but never experienced it for themselves. To date, more than a thousand TiVo subscribers have signed up to play party hosts.

This taste of TiVo will offer guests the chance to experience the TiVo service first hand, as well as a special 2-hour programming package, filled with premieres, that will be sent to TiVo Series2(TM) broadband connected subscribers signed up to be party hosts. Party hosts will show off TiVo's exclusive service features including Season Pass(TM) recordings, Wish List(R) searches, Online Scheduling and TiVo KidZone. And guests can take advantage of a special offer on a TiVo box when they sign up for the TiVo service. TiVo is celebrating the efforts of the party hosts by providing invites, party favor ideas, suggestions for music to set the mood, and Name That Tune-style trivia contests with TV theme songs.

Broadband connected TiVo subscribers will receive a program package that includes two new trailers for the highly anticipated Weinstein Company films Arthur & The Invisibles, a live-action and computer-animated family adventure featuring the talents of Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Mia Farrow and David Bowie, and Bobby, Emilio Estevez's exploration of the night in 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was gunned down and the lives of those at the Ambassador Hotel that fateful night. Party-goers will also be treated to trailers for the upcoming comedy School for Scoundrels starring Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder, and the action-adventure film Stormbreaker starring Ewan McGregor and Mickey Rourke, both from the Weinstein Company.

The special 2-hour programming block will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the innovative new Concord Music CD "Ray Sings, Basie Swings" featuring commentary from Ray Charles' longtime manager; "hopefuls" auditioning for the opportunity to perform at a Def on Demand event sponsored by H20: Hip Hop OnDemand; and a one-hour recap of the hit Sci-Fi Channel series Battlestar Galactica narrated by series star Mary McDonnell.
