New Episodes of 'Artist Confidential,' 'Offstage,' and 'Then...Again...Live!' Original Music Series Available Only on XM Beginning This Month
WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio service with more than 7 million subscribers, announced today that the fall season of XM's popular original programming "Artist Confidential," "Offstage," and "Then...Again...Live" will begin this month. Fans of all music genres can tune in to hear original interviews and exclusive live performances from important artists, including Sting, Tony Bennett, Ludacris, Chicago, Amy Grant and Pink, only on XM.
Sting is scheduled to appear on "Artist Confidential" the week of October 16 on XM's deep classic rock channel, Deep Tracks (XM 40), XM Cafe (XM 45), The Loft (XM 50) and Fine Tuning (XM 76). Also scheduled to air this season on "Artist Confidential" is entertainment legend Tony Bennett. Broadcast dates to be announced later this fall.
Hosted by XM's George Taylor Morris, "Artist Confidential" features live performances, candid interviews and audience interaction with celebrated artists who reveal rare insights on their lives and art before an audience of fans and friends at the XM Performance Theater in Washington, D.C. and XM studios in New York City.
The fall season of "Artist Confidential" will also include an appearance from Ludacris, the acclaimed rapper, actor, and host of the XM show "Ludacris Presents Open Mic!," who will give fans a chance to hear songs from his much anticipated new album Release Therapy due in stores September 26. Grammy award-winning band Chicago will also make an appearance on Monday, October 2 at 10 pm ET on The Blend (XM 25).
Other "Artist Confidential" episodes will include Amy Grant who will premiere Monday, September 25 at 7 pm ET on XM's Christian pop and rock channel The Message (XM 32), and encores of pop rock singer Pink's performance that premiered earlier this month on XM Hitlist (XM 30).
Soul music fans can tune into a special "Artist Confidential: Soul Edition" hosted by XM's BK Kirkland to hear Gamble & Huff discuss the music and artists behind their legendary Sound of Philadelphia the week of November 20 on Soul Street (XM 60) and The Groove (XM 63). And the classical music of Helene Grimaud and Anne Sophie Mutter can be heard on "Classical Confidential" episodes hosted by Martin Goldsmith late this fall on the XM Classics channel (XM 110).
In addition to "Artist Confidential," fans can hear new installments of the "Then...Again...Live!" series starting with Gary Wright performing his classic album The Dream Weaver on the 70s (XM 7) and Deep Tracks (XM 40); as well as REO Speedwagon's High Infidelity on the 80s (XM 8) and The Blend (XM 25). The "Then...Again...Live!" series takes classic albums, and gives the artist an opportunity to reinterpret it, in sequence, in front of a live audience.
The fall season of "Offstage," which puts XM's vast music library into the hands of a well-known artist to play and talk about the music they love, will include artist hosts: Darryl "DMC" McDaniels on October 9 on Deep Tracks (XM 40); Greg Allman on November 13 on X Country (XM 12), Deep Tracks (XM 40) and Fine Tuning (XM 76); and Ray Davies on December 25 on XM Deep Tracks (XM 40) and Fine Tuning (XM 76).
