Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to Dedicate Historical Marker for Philo T. Farnsworth
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission will join the Springfield Township Historical Society at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15 in Wyndmoor to unveil the official state historical marker for Philo T. Farnsworth.
Farnsworth was the inventor of electronic television. The marker will be placed at the site of his former station, W3XPF, where some of the first experiments in live, local TV broadcasting were undertaken in the 1930s.
