Guinness World Records Smashed During 'Live with Regis and Kelly's' 'Guinness World Record Breaker Week'

Philbin Sets New On-Camera Mark

NASCAR's Matt Kenseth Speeds Past Custard Pie Record

Kenneth Lee of NJ Slashes Record Number of Apples

NEW YORK, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- This week's "Live with Regis and Kelly" is one for the record books, as "Live's Guinness World Record Breaker Week" continues. Today, three spectacular records were shattered during the one-hour live morning show.

During "Live's" host chat segment, Guinness World Records Researcher/U.S. spokesperson Stuart Claxton surprised host Regis Philbin with a special presentation: Philbin broke his own existing Most Hours On Camera record, and Claxton presented him with an updated certificate, citing the new record of 15,662 hours on U.S. television.

Following Philbin's presentation, Kenneth Lee of Rutherford, NJ, wielded his trusty samurai sword in a successful attempt to slash the mark for Most Apples Cut in the Air by a Sword in One Minute. In a breathtaking display of prowess, Lee sliced and diced his way from the current mark of 21 to a new high of 23 apples.

The final result was the tastiest of the three, as the Top 5 drivers in NASCAR's Chase for the Nextel Cup -- Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch -- got in on the action by attempting to break the record for Most Custard Pies Thrown in One Minute. Their targets? Hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, "Live" Executive Producer Michael Gelman, "Live" Executive in Charge of Production Art Moore and "Live" producer Lori Schulweis. After a minute of complete pandemonium, as the "Live" studio filled with flying whipped cream and custard, Matt Kenseth hit partner Kelly Ripa with a record 17 pies, literally smashing the existing record of 15.

"Live's Guinness World Record Breaker Week" commemorates the release of Guinness World Records 2007 edition, the annual best-seller which is currently in stores.
