'Fear Fest '06' Asks Viewers 'How Do You Like Your Horror?'

The Month Long Movie Event Featuring Frightening Flicks on Starz, Encore, RetroPlex and Their On Demand Services Begins Oct. 1

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Get your fill of blood, guts and terror the entire month of October with "Fear Fest '06," a multi-movie scare stunt across Starz, Encore, RetroPlex and their respective On Demand services. This month of nonstop, bone-chilling terror films asks viewers "How do you like your horror?"

The fright on Starz includes a 24-hour horror marathon beginning Oct. (Friday the) 13th, kicking off with the world television premiere of the Starz original production "Going To Pieces: The Rise and Fall of The Slasher Film" at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), which will be repeated on Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) and Oct. 31 at 11 p.m. (ET/PT). "Going To Pieces: The Rise and Fall of The Slasher Film" provides a comprehensive and original look at the importance, prominence and newfound legitimacy of the "slasher film." The feature-length documentary contains interviews with pre-eminent actors, directors and producers, special effects masters, composers and experts, including such horror icons as Wes Craven, John Carpenter and Rob Zombie, and is interspersed with some of the most memorable scenes from classic films of the genre, as well as many current hits. The special is based on the book of the same title by Adam Rockoff.

A not to be missed, spine-tingling event, "Fear Fest '06" will bring viewers some of the most beloved and scariest films of the genre, including "Dark Water," "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," "Wolf Creek," "Night of the Living Dead," "Hellraiser: Bloodline," "The Omen," "Alien Resurrection" and "Blade: Trinity."
