Detroit Tigers and MLB to Stage 'Rally Monday' Fan Event on October 2

Club to Host Community Celebration at Comerica Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHAT: Detroit Tigers fans will celebrate the arrival of the 2006 Major League Baseball postseason and their chance to play for the 2006 World Series Championship during "Rally Monday" on October 2. "Rally Monday" consists of fan celebrations staged by each of the eight playoff-bound Clubs in their respective home markets in conjunction with Major League Baseball.

The Detroit Tigers "Rally Monday" is open to the public, free of charge and will take place rain or shine.

WHEN: Monday, October 2, 2006
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. EDT

WHERE: In front of Comerica Park - Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Mich.

WHO: Michigan native and actor/playwright Jeff Daniels will perform his new song, "The Lifelong Tiger Fan Blues Revisited," live on the mainstage. Local band 50 Amp Fuse will also perform.

Former Tiger greats Gates Brown, Barbaro Barbey, Alex Johnson, Scott Lusader, Larry Pashnick, Dan Petry and Jon Warden are scheduled to sign autographs.

The event will be emceed by Fox Sports Net Detroit's Mario Impemba and Rod Allen, and will include special appearances by Tigers Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Ernie Harwell and Tigers champions Al Kaline and Willie Horton.

Several fan activities and promotions will be offered, including ticket giveaways, the opportunity for fans to sign a giant "Go Tigers" billboard, and special MLB batting cages, pitching cages and cyber ballpark gaming areas.
