Comcast to Add More Than 500 Jobs in Colorado

New Customer Service Employees Will Assist Local Customers From New Call Centers in Denver and Colorado Springs

DENVER, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast is adding more than 500 jobs across Colorado, the company announced today. New customer service employees will assist local residential and commercial customers from two new Comcast customer service call centers in Denver and Colorado Springs. The new jobs will help Comcast keep pace with ever-growing customer demand for high-speed Internet, cable television and phone services.

"Colorado has a highly-skilled workforce and Comcast creating job opportunities further demonstrates the strength of the local business community," said U.S. Senator Ken Salazar. "It's important to keep good jobs in the state, and I applaud Comcast for choosing to hire locally and for supporting Colorado's economy."

The 500 new jobs will add to Comcast's existing 4,000 Colorado employees who serve more than 800,000 customers statewide. The new customer service positions range from entry level Customer Account Executives to more advanced Technical Support Representatives. In addition to job growth, construction of the new centers brings more than $10 million in business to local architects, contractors, suppliers and construction workers in Denver and Colorado Springs.

"Comcast's first priority has always been customers, and by hiring local talent to serve local communities, we ensure our customers are supported by employees who understand the local market's dynamics and can meet each customer's unique needs," said Scott Binder, senior vice president and general manager of Comcast of Colorado.

Located at 4920 Centennial Blvd. in Colorado Springs, the new southern call center will primarily support local Colorado Springs customers, and will eventually grow to service new customers throughout Colorado. The new Commercial Business Support Center, located at 7150 South Fulton Street in Centennial, will provide technical support to Comcast commercial customers nationally.

"The new jobs are ideal for individuals who are passionate about customer service and want to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that offers real career growth potential," said Susan Rardin, vice president of customer service for Comcast Colorado. "Comcast is offering a full suite of advanced services, from digital cable, video on demand, digital video recorders, to fully featured high-speed Internet and telephone services -- and we are continually innovating. Comcast is the place to be for employees who are excited about the communications arena."

Customer Account Executives and Technical Support Representatives will be offered competitive wages and benefits based on education and previous service experience. In addition to wages, employees will receive a full incentive package including medical, dental and prescription benefits, and complimentary Comcast services. Hiring for the new positions will start immediately, with both centers fully staffed by the end of 2007. Potential applicants are encouraged to apply on line at http://comcast.com/careers.

"A customer service role is great way for individuals to start a career with Comcast," said Rardin. "An employee can start at our Customer Account Executive level and quickly advance to the Technical Support Representative or Customer Service Supervisor level. After proving themselves in the call center, employees will be well-positioned to continue advancement in our organization."

Comcast has been growing consistently for the past several years thanks to the introduction of new products and improved customer service. Strong demand is expected to continue in Colorado as the company continues to roll out its Triple Play offering -- a product package featuring Digital Cable with ON DEMAND, Comcast Digital Voice and Comcast High-Speed Internet. In addition to significant consumer savings, Triple Play allows for one bill, one customer service point of contact, and one installation visit to the home.

"These new jobs and facilities are a product of Colorado's appetite for Comcast products, and we couldn't be happier hiring 500 individuals who come from the same communities driving this demand," added Binder.
