Comcast Ranks #1 in Small & Medium Business Internet Access for Second Consecutive Year

Comcast continues to lead in SMB customer satisfaction

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast announced it was ranked number one in small and medium business (SMB) Internet access customer satisfaction for the second year in a row. The ranking is based on the respondents of 758 US-based SMBs across all industry sectors in the Yankee Group 2005 SMB Communications, Broadband and VoIP Survey(1). The survey focuses on SMBs' current and future communication technology needs and planned spending on new telephony services such as broadband and VoIP products, services and features.

"Comcast has been able to leverage its expertise that comes from being the nation's leading broadband provider to understand the specialized needs of the SMB market and deliver services that fully cater to those needs," said Kevin O'Toole, vice president of Commercial Services for Comcast. "Due to its immense capabilities, we are seeing cable quickly becoming the platform of choice for businesses. In fact, our own research shows that the vast majority of Comcast commercial customers would recommend its broadband offering to other SMBs."

Comcast's broadband offering packages the best speeds and security solutions, supported by Comcast's expertise and advanced fiber network, to meet the needs of the SMB segment. It includes high-performance high-speed Internet, remote Internet access and Web-hosting solutions that are reliable, secure, and are backed by business-class, around-the-clock customer support. Comcast provides businesses speeds of up to 8 Mbps downstream and 1 Mbps upstream. Additionally, Comcast's broadband offering includes McAfee(R) VirusScan(R) for up to 25 PCs at no additional cost -- a savings of nearly $1,000 annually -- and its technicians install and maintain an IP gateway, including firewall protection.

"Comcast's quality assurance practice continues to enhance the SMB experience with ongoing monitoring of new practices," said Steve Hilton, Yankee Group Small & Medium Business Strategies director. "Comcast pushes knowledge of new solution launches to all frontline employees and fosters an environment of training and customer accountability."
