Music fans can sign up for a three-month service agreement to receive the Napster MP3 player at www.napster.com/special_offer.html. The free 512MB MP3 player is a new offering, featuring the same design style and features of the 256MB player previously offered. The 1GB flash based portable media device introduced in June offers not only greater storage capacity but also features a color LCD screen, FM tuner, six equalizer settings, support for both WMA and MP3 files and can be used to view JPEG files and play MPEG4 videos.
Priced at just $50, the 1GB device has received positive reviews by gadget sites CNET.com and DAPReview.net both of which noted that the device is feature-packed and offers excellent battery life, making the additional cost of purchase worth the investment.
