2006 South Asian International Film Festival Announces the World Premiere of 'Jaan-E-Mann' as their Closing Night Film

NEW YORK, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The World Premiere of Sajid Nadiawala's 'Jaan-E-Mann' (Sweetheart), a film by Shirish Kunder, will be the closing night presentation of the 3rd Annual South Asian International Film Festival on Sunday, October 8th, 2006. This year's closing night festivities are presented by Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey.

This marks the first time in history that a Bollywood film is holding its World Premiere in New York City. 'Jaan-E-Mann' stars highly acclaimed Indian film stars Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta, and Anupam Kher.

Suhaan (Salman Khan) is the wannabe rock star and polished wordsmith. Agastya (Akshay Kumar) is the lovable underdog; the tongue-tied nerd who can't seem to get a sentence out. They are polar opposites with only one thing in common ... their love for Piya (Preity Zinta). College friends, neither is able to tell Piya how they feel. Years pass and Suhaan is now a famous singer, Agastya an astronaut with NASA and Piya a modern woman creating a path all her own. The three are going about their lives ... until one sunny afternoon, when fate brings them together ...

'Jaan-E-Mann' is in Hindi with English subtitles and distributed by Adlabs.
