TriWest Contributes $15,000 to Fort Carson's Family Relief Fund

PHOENIX, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Preceding the Lt. Dan Band concert Saturday night at Fort Carson, TriWest Healthcare Alliance will present $15,000 to Fort Carson's Army Emergency Relief Fund.

TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr., will present the check to Fort Carson's garrison commander, COL Eugene Smith, at a reception at Fort Carson's Special Events Center prior to the Aug. 12 concert.

"We are grateful to those who are sacrificing at home in defense of our freedom while their loved ones are serving our nation, and we are pleased to help Fort Carson's families who find themselves in need of a little financial assistance," McIntyre said. "It's our way of saying thanks for all they do."

TriWest is a presenting sponsor of the USO's Lt. Dan Band concert series for actor, director and producer Gary Sinise, who formed the band specifically to play for America's military family. The band, named for Sinise's Lt. Dan character in the movie Forest Gump, recently completed a series of stateside tours.

The Army Emergency Relief Fund provides financial support to help families meet their unexpected expenses, such as car and home repairs, and help with mortgage payments.
