SEATTLE, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Tower Records, America's leading independent music and entertainment retailer, today is proud to announce its Mainstage sponsorship of Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival to be held Labor Day Weekend, September 2-4. In the first year of a three year sponsorship, Tower Records is psyched to support the biggest contemporary music and arts festival in North America, now in its 36th year, as the Mainstage Presenting Sponsor and Exclusive CD Music Retailer of Bumbershoot. In addition to Tower's presence at the Mainstage with performances from this year's headliners: Kanye West, Blondie, Steve Miller Band, and more, Tower's festival booths will host numerous artists for meet-and-greets and autograph signings. In addition, Tower Records will tie in a number of promotions at the Tower Records Seattle store, located at the corner of 5th Avenue North and Roy Streets, just a few blocks from the Seattle Center location of Bumbershoot.
"Since we opened our Seattle doors in 1976, back in Bumbershoot's early years, Tower Records has embraced and celebrated the Seattle music scene and creative culture," said Russ Eisenman, Chief Marketing Officer of Tower Records. "We are elated to partner with Bumbershoot in bringing first-class recording acts to the Bumbershoot Mainstage."
"We are thrilled to have Tower Records as a sponsor of the Mainstage at Bumbershoot," stated Heather Smith, Bumbershoot Producer. "Unlike many festivals, Bumbershoot is produced by a not for profit company, and relies on the support of innovative corporate companies to ensure that we continue to bring outstanding music and arts to the community at affordable ticket prices."
