Astronauts Offer Out-Of-This-World Adventures, Artifacts
More than 30 former NASA astronauts are auctioning themselves and their space-flown artifacts to fund the educations of the next generation U-S explorers and scientists.
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Fourth Annual Silent Auction of Astronaut Experiences and Artifacts, is hosted by collectSPACE.com.
The auction began 35 years to the day after the fourth lunar landing mission, Apollo 15, returned to Earth. The flight's command module pilot Al Worden serves as the chairman of the Foundation and has donated two of the more than 30 lots in the auction.

The Rolling Stones Return to North America With 'A Bigger Bang' Tour
Churchill Downs, home of America's premier horse race, the Kentucky Derby, has been added to the list of historic sports venues to host the legendary rock band, The Rolling Stones, as part of the band's 2006 North American "A Bigger Bang" tour. The Rolling Stones will perform under Churchill Downs' famed Twin Spires the evening of Friday, September 29th.
The bigger bang tour launches September 20th at Boston's Gillette Stadium, recreating the magic of their historic Fenway Park kick-off one year earlier. The Rolling Stones hold the record for the most successful U-S and world tour in 2005 and have already been named the number one touring band in the world for the first half of 2006 by Billboard. The U-S tour dates will be sponsored by RadioShack.

Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby to Be Auctioned on the Internet
Racing aficionados and movie buffs have an opportunity to bid on and buy four of the "prop" race cars driven by Will Ferrell, John C Reilly and Sacha Baron Cohen in the filming of the hit Columbia Pictures' comedy Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby.
Sony Pictures has begun selling the iconic and highly collectible cars used in the movie's action-packed NASCAR racing sequences. Bids for the cars will be solicited for the next nine days at RickyBobby.com and eBay will feature the four cars for sale on its Movies/D-V-D page and its Entertainment Memorabilia Page.
The net proceeds from the car auctions will be donated to Variety's Kids: The Children's Charity and The NASCAR Foundation, in which Ferrell served as this year's Official Spokesperson for the Foundation's largest annual fundraiser, NASCAR Day.
In addition to the cars, other props and key costumes and wardrobe from the movie will also be offered for sale on the sites in the coming days.

Singer Barry Manilow to Have Hip Surgery
Singer, songwriter Barry Manilow, currently in the midst of a four-year concert contract at the Las Vegas Hilton, is scheduled to undergo outpatient arthroscopic surgery on both hips at a Southern California Hospital.
Manilow recently tore the labrum in both hips. When the symptoms of extreme pain and discomfort did not go away following preliminary treatment, an M-R-I arthogram was performed and the labrum tears were discovered.
Manilow's stage performance is well known for its extensive production and high energy that have aggravated the condition.
Las Vegas Hilton executives report that they are in the process of rescheduling 20 Manilow concerts that had been scheduled during what will now become Manilow's recovery period. The new concerts will be included in the 2007 schedule.
