TORONTO, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The flash of cameras won't be the only sparkle on the red carpet this September. Swarovski, the world's leading brand for cut crystal, is proud to announce its official sponsorship of the 31st annual Toronto International Film Festival(R) where it will recognize innovative filmmaking through the Swarovski Cultural Innovation Award and help style the stars in coveted crystal fashion accessories.

One of the world's most significant cultural events, the Toronto International Film Festival brings together the top actors, directors and cinematographers from around the globe. The Swarovski Cultural Innovation Award has been developed for the Festival's Visions Programme and will be awarded to films that spotlight work by filmmakers who challenge our notions of mainstream cinema and explore new cinematic territory. The distinctive trophy created by Swarovski for this award, designed with the MINI RAY crystal collection piece, created by Nathalie Colin (Swarovski's creative director), will be on display at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall throughout the festival. Also on display will be a presentation of Swarovski's history and development since 1895, its involvement in the worldwide entertainment industry and its participation in the Toronto International Film Festival.

Many of Swarovski's most exclusive and dazzling pieces will be on display at the Swarovski Suite located at the Four Seasons Hotel from September 7th to 13th. Open exclusively to celebrities, stylists and media, the Swarovski fashion suite will portray Swarovski's vision of elegance and style. On display will be a variety of pieces from the Daniel Swarovski Poetic Night collection, a leading couture crystal brand, available in North America exclusively in Toronto, New York, and Miami as well as several vintage and signature Swarovski pieces. Celebrities who attend will be given the opportunity to borrow product for festival appearances and will be presented with a limited edition (star collector bag) exclusive bag for Toronto.
