NEW YORK, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Granite Broadcasting Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: GBTVK) announced today that its three Upstate New York stations, ABC-affiliate WKBW-TV serving Buffalo, New York; CBS- affiliate WTVH-TV serving Syracuse, Utica and Rome, New York; and CBS-affiliate WBNG serving Binghamton and Elmira, New York will host and provide live carriage of the New York Gubernatorial debate on Monday, August 28th at 8:00 p.m., featuring Democrat Tom Suozzi and Republican John Faso. Democratic candidate Eliot Spitzer was invited but declined to participate. Granite carriage of the event will reach close to 60 percent of television households in the Upstate New York region. Granite also announced today that the event would also be carried live on the Internet at www.WKBW.com.

Keith Radford, WKBW-TV news anchor, will moderate the debate, and will be joined by a panel of journalists including Joanna Pasceri, WKBW-TV news anchor, Greg Catlin, WBNG-TV news director and anchor, Tim O'Shei, Managing Editor of Business First, and David Arkin, Managing Editor of The Niagara Gazette. Both The Gazette and Business First are partners with Buffalo's WKBW-TV 7News.

Questions from New York state residents are being solicited from viewers via e-mail. Persons attending the debate will also be able to submit questions. Both e-mail and attendee questions will be asked by Keith Radford. Questions from the panel will focus on Western and Upstate New York's economy and other important election issues.
