NEW YORK, July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Azteca America, the fastest growing Hispanic television network in the U.S., announced today that it has appointed Robert Turner as President of Network Sales. Mr. Turner currently oversees the company's national spot television sales through Interep, the nation's largest independent advertising sales and marketing company. With his new duties, Mr. Turner will lead both Azteca America network sales and the company's national spot television sales.
"Bob has surpassed expectations, growing our spot television business at an unprecedented rate, while demonstrating unparalleled knowledge of the advertising market," said Adrian Steckel, President and CEO of Azteca America. Mr. Turner and his team at Interep began representing the company's national spot advertising sales in December 2005, under Azteca America Spot Television Sales, a recently formed company.
"Bob is a tremendous asset to our existing team; we are delighted that he takes his relationship with Azteca America to a higher level. I look forward to working with him to further expand Azteca America's brand within the community of national advertisers," added Mr. Steckel.
Carlos de la Garza, current head of network sales, and a veteran of Grupo Salinas, has built solid relationships with U.S. advertisers that allow for encouraging expectations. Based on his notable performance in the U.S. Hispanic market, and prior achievements in Mexico, Mr. de la Garza has been promoted to lead expansion efforts in new media for TV Azteca in Mexico.
"Carlos has done a remarkable job during his four years as head of network sales, delivering an impressive track record of continued top line expansion," said Mr. Steckel. "I wish him success in his new responsibilities. Carlos has added enormous value, building a solid presence among advertisers in the U.S., and I am sure he will generate great results in new media in his homeland."
"Network sales and spot television sales are closely related. Both require a similar marketing strategy to effectively penetrate the national advertising community," said Mr. Turner. "I am thrilled with the opportunity to bring the same level of energy and growth that we have achieved in spot television sales to Azteca America's network sales."
