BOULDER, Colo., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrating 35 years, the Flagstaff House Restaurant, Colorado's most award-winning, family owned restaurant, was chosen to participate in a new Food Network series to premier July 11, 2006 called "Road Tasted." Filming of this episode, which recently took place at the Flagstaff House in Boulder, is expected to air on Food Network sometime in September 2006.
During the filming of this "Road Tasted" segment at the Flagstaff House, Chef Mark Monette, executive chef and partner of the restaurant, teamed up with Bobby and Jamie Deen to prepare from start to finish Colorado rack of lamb, lamb loin and lamb shank -- all of which are available for ordering directly from the Flagstaff House, or on the restaurant's ecommerce Web site at www.shopflagstaffhouse.com.
"We're honored to have Bobby and Jamie Deen visit Boulder and choose the Flagstaff House Restaurant as part of their nationwide travels," said Executive Chef and Partner Mark Monette. "Their interest in one-of-a-kind edibles and their passion for fine food are a perfect match for the style of cuisine we prepare at the Flagstaff House, Boulder's only four-star restaurant. Spending the day with them preparing Colorado lamb while filming this new show was truly a highlight for us."
"In a given year, we have more than 50,000 diners visit the Flagstaff House Restaurant to enjoy the breathtaking views, impeccable service, fine wine and superb food," said Scott Monette, partner and general manager of the Flagstaff House Restaurant. "Many of these guests have asked about purchasing items they enjoyed while dining here. Some have asked about having our gourmet food delivered fresh to their homes. Our recently launched online retail store, www.shopflagstaffhouse.com, allows consumers nationwide to experience our award-winning cuisine and enjoy our one-of-a-kind gift items, such as our Rack of Colorado Lamb, our specialty reduction sauces and even our authentic Yixing teapots from China."
Chef Mark Monette has been responsible for the culinary delights at Flagstaff House since 1985. He was one of the first chefs in Colorado to incorporate French cuisine with Asian accents. Chef Mark Monette's unique style of cooking is the result of his training in several Michelin Three Star restaurants in France as well as Four Star restaurants in New York City and the Orient. Chef Mark's culinary delights are not only served in the restaurant, but are also available in the intimacy of your home. Several of Chef Mark's signature dishes are available for ordering online at www.shopflagstaffhouse.com and are shipped "fresh" (nothing is frozen) to your door.
More than 100 popular products are available from the Flagstaff House's online store, from Filet Mignon and rare hand-painted champagne flutes to the restaurant's signature bronze rabbit butler and Wine Spectator Grand award-winning, 160-page, hardbound wine list. Prices range from $3.25 for a Cognac glass to $215 for a 70 oz. crystal wine decanter, while Colorado Lamb Loin may be purchased online for $18; Colorado Buffalo Filet is $28.
