May '06 kids 2-11 ratings grew +7% vs. May '05

Nick's TurboNick Broadband Service breaks record for the highest monthly streams ever with over 21 million streams in May '06

NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Nickelodeon continues its dominance in the kid market, finishing May '06 with a 3.8 kid 2-11 rating/1.2 million viewers, up +7% in rating and +8% in impressions above last year, its highest May ratings performance since 2002. Nick dominated among kid-targeted networks among the core 2-11 demo, besting Disney (2.3 kid 2-11 rating/742,000 viewers) by 65% and Cartoon (1.9 kid 2-11 rating/628,000 viewers) by 97% within Nick Total Day*.

Additionally, Nick.com recorded its second most visited month ever to the site, logging nearly 14.5 million monthly unique visitors in May '06, an increase of +86% above last year and +9% above April '06. TurboNick, Nickelodeon's broadband video service on Nick.com, had its best month ever with over 21 million video streams, beating the previous highest month, March '06, by 23%. The #1 stream for the month was vignettes for The Fairly Odd Parents' special Fairy Idol, which captured nearly 2 million streams. In addition, the Fairly Idol - Fast Fame! game was the #1 game on Nick.com with over 5.1 game plays, contributing to the nearly 77 million total game plays on Nick.com in May '06. Nick VOD also captured 7 million views in May '06, solidifying the Nickelodeon brand on multiple platforms.

Events propelling Nickelodeon television to it's biggest monthly year-to- year growth since August 2004 included:

Nickelodeon's animated hit series, The Fairly OddParents, which hit a high note on multiple platforms with the "Fairy Idol" one-hour TV event. The special, which aired Friday, May 19 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), drew a total of 5 million total viewers (P 2+, up +80% over last year) and more than 3 million kids, and ranked as the top program of the day on all of TV (cable and broadcast) among kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14.

The #1 animated series on all of TV among boys 9-14, Avatar, posted double digit year-to-year gains in May. Avatar, currently in its second season, averaged a 5.2 tween 9-14 rating/1.1 million viewers in its Friday night time period, up +23% in rating and +26% in impressions over last year. Among boys 9-14. the show posted even bigger year-to-year growth, up +25% with a 6.8 boy 9-14 rating.

The #1 pre-school program on all of TV among kids 2-5, Go, Diego Go!, posted double digit year-to-year gains in May. Go, Diego Go! averaged a 7.9 Kid 2-5 rating/1 million viewers during its 9:30 AM telecast in the Nick Jr block, up +18% in rating and +21% in impressions over last year. Go, Diego Go! is celebrating its third consecutive quarter as the top pre-school program among kids 2-5 on all of TV. Since the show premiered back in September 6, 2005, it has finished #1 among kids 2-5 in 4Q05, 1Q06 and in 2Q06-to-date (March 27-May 7).
