Camera Crews and Comedians Roll into Atlanta for Massive "Gay Pride" Celebration
ATLANTA, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Get ready for your close-up Atlanta! Laugh Out(R), the world's first interactive, gay-themed comedy show will be out in full force this weekend, capturing wild and wacky scenes from Atlanta's massive and popular Gay Pride festival -- which is expected to attract 250,000 participants.
Laugh Out crews will hit all the major Gay Pride events including the parade on Sunday. In addition, Laugh Out street teams will be handing out free Laugh Out merchandise and signing up people for the show's official email database.
"We're looking for people having fun and willing to let our cameras take part in the celebration," said Mark Pettit, Laugh Out's creator and executive producer. "The crazier, the better."
Pettit and the team behind Laugh Out have just completed the pilot episode of the cutting-edge gay comedy show and are actively pitching the concept to major network, cable and broadband comedy channels. The show's interactive website (www.laughout.com) has been visited by thousands of people around the world. Dozens of people have submitted their auditions via the show's website and several potential cast members are being tested for roles on the show.
Among them: Fiely Matias, affectionately known as "Lounge-Zilla" (www.loungezillasings.com). The Orlando-based comedian has toured the world to rave reviews and will be in Atlanta this weekend acting as Laugh Out's 'Roving Rice Queen' correspondent.
"Fiely is a terrific and twisted talent," said Pettit. "From the second we saw his audition, we loved him. He's what Laugh Out is all about."
Matias is just as enthralled with Laugh Out. "I've been waiting 38 years (32 online) for this show," said Matias. "If Laugh Out isn't picked up by a major network, I will personally pull out of the United Nations."
Hopefully that won't be necessary. Pettit is in discussions with several potential buyers of the show.
"It's just a matter of time for a show whose time has come," Pettit says.
