Elliot Easton Not Dead - 'It's Alive' in Stores Today

The New Cars Narrowly Avoid Serious Collision

Easton Injured But the Tour Will Go On - New CD in Stores Today

LOS ANGELES, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Elliot Easton, founding member and guitarist for The New Cars, fractured his left clavicle while en route from their show on June 4 at The Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH to Washington DC. The band was asleep when the tour bus swerved to avoid a vehicle during the early morning hours of Monday, June 5th. Easton was thrown from his bunk and injured. Easton was taken to a local hospital where he told the doctor "I've been waiting 17 years for this tour, I'm not missing any shows." No shows have been canceled and the tour continues with their next destination in Vienna, VA at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap on Tuesday, June 6.

In stores today, Tuesday, June 6, The New Cars: It's Alive, a live greatest hits compilation of classic Cars' hits with three new studio tracks performed by The New Cars available on Eleven Seven Music in association with ADA, a Warner Music Group Company. The New Cars are original Cars' members guitarist Elliot Easton and keyboardist Greg Hawkes, vocalist/guitarist Todd Rundgren, fellow Utopia bassist/vocalist Kasim Sulton and former Tubes drummer Prairie Prince.

"The live versions turned out to be every bit as enjoyable -- and in
some cases, even more so -- than what's on The Cars' old studio albums ...
The smartest move of the night was that Rundgren didn't try to imitate
Ocasek. Instead, he ran the music through his own filter -- and his own
enhancer -- and delivered roughed-up, rocked-out versions of the familiar
fan favorites." -- Jim Harrington, The Oakland Tribune

"... a joyride. ... there's no shortage of chemistry amongst its
players." -- Erik Pedersen, The Hollywood Reporter
