Comcast Names Peter Filon Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs

WASHINGTON, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA)(NASDAQ:CMCSK), the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, today announced that Peter Filon is joining the company as Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs in Washington, DC. He will serve as one of Comcast's senior lobbyists focused on Congress and the Administration beginning on July 18.

Filon currently serves as Minority Counsel on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce responsible for cable, telephone, Internet, and broadcasting issues. He has worked with Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI), the Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee and the Dean of the House Democrats, since 1999, and with the Committee since 2003. Before working on the Hill, Filon worked as a policy analyst at Nortel Networks in Washington, DC.

He will work with Kerry Knott, Vice President of Government Affairs; Jim Coltharp, Chief Policy Advisor, FCC and Regulatory Policy; Brian Kelly, Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs; Melissa Maxfield, Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs; John Morabito, Senior Director/Policy Counsel; Susan Gonzales, Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs; and Kim Scardino, Director, Policy Counsel, in Comcast's Washington, DC government affairs office.

His experience with the Energy and Commerce Committee and particularly with Rep. John Dingell has given him a mastery of the complex issues our company and industry face today."

In a memorandum to the Members and Staff of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Rep. Dingell wrote, "For more than seven years, Pete has been a valued member of my office and the staff of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. His broad knowledge of telecommunications policy has served all Members well."

Filon holds a J.D. and a M.A. in Congressional Affairs from The Catholic University of America, and a bachelor's degree from The University of Dayton in Ohio.
