Black Stars in His Own Series of Podcasts From the Set of His New Movie, 'Nacho Libre'
Film to Be Released in Theaters June 2
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Jack Black, the star of Paramount Pictures' "Nacho Libre," will take audiences behind the scenes with exclusive "confessionals" about what it was like to make the upcoming comedy "Nacho Libre" in a series of video podcasts debuting at Apple's iTunes Music Store and Quicktime.com. Beginning March 15 and continuing for 10 weeks, leading up to the release of the film, new podcasts will appear every Tuesday and Thursday, downloadable free of charge for the video iPod and at Quicktime.com. The film opens in theaters nationwide on June 2.

In the film, Black stars as Ignacio (friends call him Nacho), a cook by day in a Mexican orphanage, who moonlights as a Lucha Libre wrestler to raise money for the orphans in this comedy from the creators of "Napoleon Dynamite" and the writer of "The School of Rock."
Black's confessionals are unscripted; during filming in Oaxaca, Mexico, he would speak spontaneously to the video camera. The confessionals are intercut with behind-the-scenes footage, music, and graphics; each video podcast is between one-and-a-half and four minutes long and free to download. As Black takes viewers behind the scenes, they will be able to see Black demonstrating his "kick-ass" training regimen, getting his chest waxed (as is Lucha Libre tradition), displaying his wrestling costume and mask, and hosting "special guests" -- "Nacho Libre" director Jared Hess and writer Mike White.
Black said, "Whenever I was in my trailer on the set of 'Nacho Libre,' I would fire up my videocamera, plop my ass down in a Barcalounger, and record my thoughts and feelings on how the movie was going. So I think it's a kick-ass document, keeping all my peeps up to date on what's going on."
Podcasts are available exclusively at iTunes and Quicktime.com during the week in which they are released. Each Monday, the previous week's podcasts will be available everywhere online.
