Redwood Adventure Website Opens for Visitors to the Redwood National Park

Redwood Adventure Website Opens for Visitors to the Redwood National Park

ORICK, Calif., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Redwood Parks Lodge Company, Inc. recently launched http://www.redwoodadventures.com/ , a website to serve those wishing to plan and organize adventure travels into the Redwood National Park on U.S. Highway 101 on the Northern California Coast about 300 miles North of San Francisco.

According to the company's chairman and spokesperson, John Russavage, "Adventure Tourism is a rapidly growing segment of the travel experience, and the Redwood National Park is one of the most beautiful places on the earth to have an adventure. Because it is a national park, it is the home to a wide variety of rare plants, animals and habitat, so those who want to enjoy their adventure activities here really need to know the rules of the road. The penalties for what are called 'Resource Violations' can be severe, to say the very least.

"We hope to attract the local, national and international 'Adventure Community' to this great site," Russavage said. "We want to show the world that the place where 'the Redwoods Meet the Sea' is a great place to have 'the Adventure of a Lifetime.'

"Our slogan is 'There's no Adventure like a Redwood Adventure.' The company plans to have something for everyone from surfers to rock climbers, wildlife watchers to river rafters. Guided excursions are being planned to designated areas within the park as well as food, fun, educational events and entertainment going on at the Redwood Adventure Center."

The website was launched to serve as a platform for guides, outfitters, hospitality and foodservice vendors and the public to connect and plan excursions into the park and surrounding areas. Everyone is required to "Play by the Rules" in the park and anyone guiding or adventuring in the park professionally must be approved by the park and have a variety of licenses and insurance policies.

Russavage continued, "Because we live and work right here in the middle of the park, we think we are very well positioned to help anyone from individuals and families to groups and organizations plan and organize their particular adventure experience, vacation or festival-style event. We can assist with the local planning, reservations, logistics, paperwork and permits and provide a staging area near the park on private property."

Russavage explained that http://www.redwoodadventures.com/ and the forthcoming Redwood Adventure Center are just the first steps in a development that will ultimately contain a Grand Redwood Lodge, a hotel with a spa and convention center and other visitor facilities.

Plans are also underway to film adventures while they happen for a reality TV show to be called "Redwood Adventures," for which the promoters hope to attract sponsors.
