Charles Bowser Tributes Planned
PHILADELPHIA, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- An Evening of Tributes to Charles W. Bowser featuring the premiere of the documentary, "Charles Bowser -- His Work, His Wisdom," is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing, 201 S. Columbus Blvd.
Mr. Bowser's trailblazing campaigns for Mayor of Philadelphia in 1975 and 1979 and the founding of The Philadelphia Party, which helped launch the political careers of Governor Ed Rendell, Mayor John Street and former Mayor W. Wilson Goode, are among the subjects covered in the educational documentary.
Produced by the National Union of Hospital & Health Care Employees District 1199C, the documentary features interviews with Mr. Bowser, Union President Henry Nicholas, Composer and Businessman Kenny Gamble, Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Frederica Massiah Jackson and Civic leader Sam Evans.
The reception begins at 6 p.m., the screening starts at 6:45, then tributes from Mr. Bowser's associates and friends.
