USA TODAY and Close Up Foundation Present Monthly 'USA TODAY Reports' Television Program on C-SPAN

MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- USA TODAY and the Close Up Foundation have joined together to produce a live, monthly, hour-long television program titled "USA TODAY Reports." Airing on the cable television channel C-SPAN, the program features USA TODAY journalists and will examine the role and performance of news media.

In front of a studio audience of high school students and other participants at The Freedom Forum and Newseum broadcast facility in Arlington, Va., "USA TODAY Reports" is presented in an open-discussion format where journalists will discuss their experiences covering the news and answer audience questions. The program is part of the weekly "Close Up on C-SPAN" series and is co-hosted by USA TODAY Editor Ken Paulson and "Close Up on C- SPAN" Executive Producer and Managing Editor, John Milewski.

"USA TODAY Reports" will air on C-SPAN the last Friday of each month at 7 p.m. ET through June. The show then goes on hiatus until October.

"Close Up on C-SPAN" is a weekly public affairs/news discussion program available to more than 85 million cable households. The program provides a forum for high school students and other Close Up participants to discuss the issues of the day with leading experts and has been seen on C-SPAN since 1979. The nonprofit, nonpartisan Close Up Foundation, the nation's largest civic education organization, encourages individuals to understand the rights and accept the responsibilities of citizenship through educational programs and activities.
