'The System' CD Tells Real Story of Struggling Youth
Five Youth Organizations Benefit From IDHS Funding
WHAT: CD release party and awards ceremony
UCAN, a human services agency supporting more than 5,000 children,
youth, and families each year, will hold a CD release party to
celebrate a music project funded by the Illinois Department of
Human Services' Teen REACH Focus program. The CD, the second in a
series, showcases the music and writing talents of fifteen-to-
nineteen-year-olds served by DHS and the Department of Children and
Family Services (DCFS). Young people from five partner agencies
from Cook and Champaign counties contributed lyrics, music and
creative inspiration to this project.
"The System" recounts personal experiences of fatherhood,
independence and individual achievement through the eyes of the
young people.
