Starz Entertainment Group to Launch Two New Networks, Extending Family of Targeted Film Channels

RetroPlex Built for Movie Lovers Aged 25-45; IndiePlex Will Showcase Independent Films

Comcast to roll Out on April 3 on its Digital Cable Service

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Starz Entertainment Group, LLC (SEG) announced today that two new channels, RetroPlex(SM) and IndiePlex(SM), will launch on April 3, 2006, extending the company's family of targeted movie channels. Comcast Cable said it will roll out the channels at launch to the majority of its Digital Cable customers as part of the company's Digital Plus service. The two new channels are RetroPlex, which offer movies of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and IndiePlex which will run theatrically-released independent films. Both will be commercial-free.

"Our company's strategy is to offer channels that are dependable destinations for different genres of movies," said SEG Executive Vice President of sales and marketing Edward L. Huguez. "Our viewers can find a channel aimed at them no matter what their taste, age group or demographic. These two new channels are a logical extension of that strategy. The films on RetroPlex will target those in the 25-45 age group who love movies but are generally underserved by television programming. IndiePlex will be devoted solely to independent films, a category that is surging in popularity among all ages and demographics, as demonstrated in the most recent round of film awards."

Comcast Senior Vice President and General Manager of video products Page Thompson added, "Movies are some of the most popular programs we offer, and we're pleased to expand our Digital Cable customers' viewing choices with the launch of these new channels. RetroPlex and IndiePlex join an impressive commercial-free movie lineup from Starz Entertainment Group."

Huguez noted that the restructuring of the Starz and Encore channels last year was designed to make each channel a showcase of a particular genre of films, and that the two new channels will extend that policy. RetroPlex focuses on the favorite movies of the Baby Boomers to the Gen Xers. IndiePlex highlights independent films of movie masters ranging from Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown), Martin Scorsese (After Hours, New York, New York) and Steven Soderbergh (Sex, Lies and Videotape).

The channels will draw on SEG's extensive inventory of theatrical movies from major studios and independent suppliers including Walt Disney Pictures, Miramax Films, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Films, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Columbia Tri-Star, Screen Gems, Revolution Studios and more. IndiePlex titles include Leaving Las Vegas, Trainspotting and Do the Right Thing. Films on RetroPlex will include Five Easy Pieces, West Side Story and Patton.
