LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Artists and recordings of the RCA Music Group won a total of five categories at 48th Annual Grammy Awards held last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Kelly Clarkson, in her Grammy Awards debut, walked away with the very first award of the telecast when her single "Since U Been Gone" was named Best Pop Female Vocal Performance. Kelly's 5X platinum RCA album Breakaway won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Two different songs from the J Records album So Amazing: An All-Star Tribute to Luther Vandross earned Grammy Awards. The award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal went to Beyonce & Stevie Wonder for their collaboration "So Amazing." In the category of Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, Aretha Franklin won for her interpretation of "A House Is Not a Home" -- the sixteenth career Grammy Award for the Queen of Soul.

Winners of last year's award for Best New Artist, Maroon 5 won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "This Love" from their Octone/J Records album Live - Friday the 13th.

Also, special mention goes to Jamie Foxx, who brought his vocal talents to Kanye West's "Gold Digger" which received the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.
