Latin Superstars Cast In Upcoming Movie: For the Love of the Game
WOODBRIDGE, Va., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Destiny International, Inc. hosted a large number of Latin participants in its upcoming film, "For The Love Of The Game," set for release April 7th, 2006. The film's Director, Bernard Bailey stated, "Our goal was to portray the Latin culture in a positive manner." Miami's beautiful weather proved to be inviting as the production completed filming at Florida Memorial University's Baseball field Wednesday February 15, 2006. The cast and crew soaked up the beautiful Miami sun while Alex, played by Tito Puente Jr., pitched a no-hitter and Christina, played by Jennifer Rosario, cheered her husband from the stands. Latin baseball superstar Derek Jeter weighed in on the film by providing the cast with his latest line of baseball clothing and sneakers from Jordan Brand.
The cast of Latin participants included Jennifer Rosario, Ms. Latina International 2003/2004, now a television personality of the CTV24 Network played the role of Christina, depicted as the beautiful wife of Cuban baseball star Alex played by Tito Puente, Jr. The Casting Director of the film, "For The Love Of The Game," Michele Taray said: "I haven't seen any other talent bring the role of Christina to life quite like Jennifer has. Her on screen presence is magnificent." Jennifer, who is accustomed to such compliments said: "I was gracious and honored to have the opportunity to portray the role of a character who represents such a rich part of my heritage; I look forward to bringing to life a character that represents the strength of Latin women."
The production also enjoyed appearances from renowned businessman Jose Ortega, CEO of the internationally known Puros Indios Cigars. Puros Indios Cigars were used as the cigar of choice throughout the film's production. Regarding his company's product placement in the movie Ortega said, "I'm a big fan of baseball so when Marketing Director Justin Proctor approached me with this opportunity for exposure, I thought what better way to depict a baseball celebration than with a Puros Indios Cigar." Puros Indios Cigars being the cigar of choice for today's trendy Miami Beach crowd.
