Cable Growth Opportunities Will Be on Display at The 2006 National Show
Four Display Pavilions Will Highlight Key Industry Sectors
WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Four display pavilions on the exhibit floor at The 2006 National Show will showcase the wide range of products and services enhancing consumers' lives and providing significant growth opportunities for cable industry companies, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) said today.
The pavilions will anchor the four corners of the exhibit floor at the Georgia World Congress Center, with vendors shining a spotlight on innovations from cable's digital telephone service to broadband Internet video gaming.
Scheduled for April 9 - 11, The 2006 National Show, highlighting the theme "Cable: A Great American Success Story," is NCTA's 55th Annual Convention and International Exposition
"Whether it's the technology of tomorrow, or the incredible programming of today, cable has always been a trailblazer in advancing America's telecommunications and entertainment marketplace," said Kyle McSlarrow, President & CEO, NCTA. "The displays planned for The National Show demonstrate how innovation is driving growth opportunities for the cable industry as we continue our tradition of meeting consumer demand for useful new products and services."
The four industry pavilions anchoring The 2006 National Show exhibition floor include:
* CableNET(R), which remains the premiere showcase for new technology at
The National Show, with more than 40 vendors demonstrating cutting edge
products and services that will be coming to market soon. CableNET, co-
sponsored by CableLabs(R), will also feature a special lounge where the
latest plug and play television sets and set top boxes built to cable's
next generation platform (including OCAP and ETV standards) will be on
display. For more information visit http://www.cablenet.org/.
* VoiceNET, which will offer telecommunications equipment and service
providers a one-stop showcase to display and demonstrate how cable can
deliver superior voice products and services over its high-speed fiber
optic broadband network. Voice product industry leaders and upstarts
will populate the VoiceNET Pavilion with a look at one of cable's most
promising growth opportunities.
* BizNET, which will feature up to 2,800 square feet of the latest
innovations designed to help cable companies capture a greater share of
the business and commercial telecommunications market. The
demonstration of technologies and services designed for deployment by
cable operators goes hand-in-hand with the co-location at The National
Show of the Business Services Forum sponsored by the Cable &
Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM). The Forum is a one
and one-half day educational program focused on cable's growing
commitment to commercial services.
* Cable Game Arena, a 7,200 square foot arcade-like exhibit anchored by
Turner's GameTap that will be home to a growing number of companies in
the cable and mainstream videogame space, while providing a "hands-on"
opportunity for convention attendees to experience many of the exciting
new features available through broadband video gaming. Broadband-
enabled interactive games, educational games, casual and multiplayer
online games, console makers, mobile games, and networks devoted to
covering this exploding marketplace will all be on display. The Cable
Game Arena will be complemented by a slate of four breakout sessions
devoted to this rapidly growing area of business.
