Resort Adds New Upscale Amenities
REUNION, Fla., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Reunion Resort & Club, the 2,300- acre golf resort community located in the Disney(R) corridor near Orlando, introduces a host of new amenities and events in 2006 to appeal to the most discerning luxury travelers.
Coming to Reunion Resort & Club in April 2006 is the inaugural Ginn Clubs & Resorts Open, the only full-field LPGA event in the state of Florida. Featuring the largest purse on the LPGA Tour at $2.5 million, the Ginn Clubs & Resorts Open promises to marry the best in women's golf with the best in entertainment by featuring musical acts and festivities throughout the week, including a concert by country duo Brooks & Dunn. Annika Sorenstam and Cristie Kerr, both sponsored by Ginn Clubs & Resorts, are expected to play in this highly touted event. For tournament information and tickets, visit http://www.ginnopen.com/ or contact the tournament office at 407-662-1700.
"We are thrilled to be the home of the LPGA's only full-field tournament in the state of Florida," said Bobby Ginn, president and CEO of Ginn Clubs & Resorts. "Our goal in hosting this tournament is to provide an exceptional experience for the players, their families and our guests."
Reunion has opened the first phase of its five-acre, multi-level water park, containing a 966-foot lazy river that winds its way throughout the park, traveling under bridges and through caves. A zero-entry lagoon, surrounded by waterfalls, provides easy access to the lazy river, while a 110-foot water slide sends those who dare on a speedy ride -- with a 15-foot elevation drop. Kids of all ages will enjoy the interactive playground in the Children's Play Pool, complete with a spinning water wheel, funnels and water guns.
Daily arts-and-crafts and aquatic activities will be available for the little ones, while weekly entertainment and happy hour provides fun for the adults. The complex will also feature a sand volleyball court and several restaurants and shops.
Heritage Crossing is a new condominium neighborhood overlooking the community's Signature Arnold Palmer Legacy Course. Heritage Crossing features 176 two- and three-bedroom condominiums and townhomes, which are available for vacation rentals. The units range from 1,285 square feet for the two-bedrooms to more than 2,000 square feet for the three-bedrooms, making for spacious luxury accommodations for a traveling family.
Reunion Grande, ideally located adjacent to the Reunion Clubhouse, will open in late 2006 and feature 82 one- and two-bedroom condominiums also available for vacation stays. A personal concierge will attend to each guest throughout their stay.
The Grande's finely appointed lobby will have a refined but relaxed feel and will also have a fine dining restaurant and its own state-of-the-art fitness facility. The crowning glory at Reunion Grande will be the rooftop pool complex, featuring private cabanas, a poolside bar and grille and a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding Signature Independence and Legacy golf courses, Reunion Square and daily fireworks at Walt Disney World.
Also slated to open in 2006 is a state-of-the-art designed horse stable facility. The 5,600-square-foot building will contain eight large, lavish, stalls. The facility features the latest in architectural design and will include office space, a break room, restrooms, feed room and tack room.
"Rough timber provides a 'Rustic Americana' architectural style on both the exterior and interior," says Guy Butler, president of Guy Butler Architect, LLC, the facility designer. "This atmosphere will inspire Reunion's Members and guests to ride through the community's picturesque trails."
