Pennsylvanians Encouraged to Vote for Local Olympian
READING, Pa., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- If Pennsylvania Olympian and top short-track skater Allison Baver has her way, she'll continue to compete at a top level even after the Games are over. But her next competition will be off the ice and into the boardroom.
Currently competing in the Torino Olympics, Ms. Baver is one of 12 Olympians vying for a role on The Apprentice 6 with Donald Trump. From now until the closing ceremonies this Sunday, Feb. 26, Americans can vote for their favorite Olympic athlete to appear on The Apprentice by visiting www.nbcolympics.com/apprentice. Ms. Baver said she hopes Pennsylvanians will help her bring the drive, energy and competitive spirit that have taken her to the Olympic Games onto The Apprentice.
Born in Reading, Penn., Ms. Baver has a bachelor's degree from Penn State. But even as she maintained the rigorous training scheduled required to prepare for the Olympic Games, she began pursuing an MBA through Ellis College, an online, fully accredited degree program. She said the determination and ambition to do both, which she considers to be hallmarks of Pennsylvanians since the time of William Penn, should translate as well in the corporate world as they do in athletics.
