Vyyo SVP Steve Santamaria to Present T1, Spectrum Overlay Solutions at NCTC Conference
ATLANTA, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Vyyo Inc. (NASDAQ:VYYO), a global supplier of broadband access equipment for cable and private wireless broadband network solutions, announced today that Steve Santamaria, senior vice president and general manager, business services, will deliver a presentation on the company and its products at the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) Winter Educational Conference on January 30-31 in Albuquerque, NM.
Santamaria, who last year received the Pacesetter Award from CED Magazine for his leadership in Business Services with Charter Communications, will discuss Vyyo's T1 over coax, T1 over wireless and spectrum overlay solutions during the two-day conference. Vyyo is a Platinum Vendor to the more than 1,100 independent cable operators served by the programming and hardware buying cooperative. With 14.3 million subscribers in the United States served by member operators, NCTC represents one of the world's largest base of cable television subscribers.
"The stability, predictability and higher margins of business services and the subscriber attraction and retention value of advanced residential offerings resonate with NCTC member operators," said Santamaria. "We're pleased to be working with the NCTC on solutions that enable members to leverage their existing plant to generate new revenue."
The presentation will include discussion of the full range of Vyyo's cable solutions, including:
-- spectrum overlay technology that provides "fiber-like" performance over
cable coax at a fraction of the cost of telco fiber builds;
-- voicegrade T1 over coax and T1 wireless extensions that enable cable
operators to enter the growing business services market; and
-- T1 cellular backhaul that allows cable operators to capitalize on what
GeoResults, a telecom database marketing and consulting firm, estimates
to be a $20 billion market opportunity for transporting mobile traffic
between cell towers and switching offices.
