Tickets Still Available for Groove Detroit ... Art In Motion, a Fund-Raising Event to Benefit The Children's Center
DETROIT, Mich., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Excitement builds for Detroit-area events during the days leading up to Super Bowl XL, and tickets are still available for one of the weekend's most anticipated events, Groove Detroit ... Art in Motion. This fund-raising event to benefit The Children's Center will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Ford Conference & Event Center in Dearborn, from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. To purchase tickets to this funky, high- energy event, visit http://www.groovedetroit.com/ , or call The Children's Center at 313-262-1112.
One of the highlights of the evening will be Osadia, a hairdressing duo from Barcelona, Spain, that is widely known for their eclectic, avant-garde hair sculpture creations. Osadia will bring the term "audience participation" to a new level, as they invite guests from the audience to the stage to be transformed with outrageous hairstyles and make-up on the spot. A typical transformation takes about 15 minutes.
In addition, a cast of living-art statues will engage guests in the night's overall theme, "living art in motion." Among the featured human statues will be two bronze football players (one vintage, one present day), two aerial-swing Ice Princesses, two walking-dessert-table Ice Princesses, a live-art painting with two ballerina models posed as Degas' ballet dancers, a bronze statue of "The Thinker," and an Ice Prince.
Also providing entertainment for the evening will be DJ AM, the entertainment industry's premier DJ. His name defines what's cool in Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas and New York, and his clientele is only A-List. Likewise, DJ AM has headlined at special events for celebrities, including birthday parties for Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, and a more recent engagement party for Christina Aguilera.
