MEDIA ADVISORY: For Your Los Angeles Oscar(R) Coverage

WHAT: "Flight of the Oscars" - Oscar-1
The arrival of the 50 Oscar statuettes on "Oscar-1," the special
United Airlines p.s.(SM) flight from New York City to Los
Angeles.

The Oscar statuettes will be awarded to the winners of the 78th
Academy Awards(R) on Sunday, March 5 at the Kodak Theatre.

WHO: Sid Ganis, president, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
Bruce Davis, executive director, Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences
Wolfgang Puck, master chef, Academy Awards Governors Ball
Dennis Taylor, United Airlines captain, "Oscar-1"

WHEN: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PST
("Oscar-1" is scheduled to arrive at 12:04 p.m.)
Thursday, February 2

Media must check in between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. PST

WHERE: Los Angeles International Airport
Terminal 7; Gate 72; Flight 23 (Oscar-1)

Check in at the United Airlines Terminal 7, Counter 39. Media
will be escorted to Gate 72 for coverage opportunities.

VISUALS: At Gate 72:
-- Passengers will disembark with chocolate Oscars and the
commemorative Academy Awards posters will be handed out.

-- Sid Ganis to welcome "Oscar-1;" Bruce Davis, Wolfgang Puck and
Captain Taylor will disembark upon arrival of "Oscar-1."

On the tarmac:
-- Crates containing the Oscar statuettes for the 78th Academy
Awards as they are being unloaded from "Oscar-1." Crates will
have Oscar decals; "Oscar-1" will have four-foot-tall Oscar
decals on the aircraft's exterior.

-- Captain Taylor to hold an Oscar statuette from cockpit window
upon taxiing to the gate.

To secure airport access, RSVPs must be received by 12 p.m.,
February 1. Crew name(s)/drivers license and date of birth
information are required.

Parking: All media may park in Parking Structure 7 across from Terminal 7.
Parking will be validated. All broadcast-equipped media vehicles
displaying valid LAX Media Parking Permits may park in Vendor
Delivery Lot 6 across from Terminal 6 on the Lower/Arrivals
Level. Media vehicles requiring permits to park in Vendor Lot 6,
please call LAX Public Relations at 310-646-5260 no later than 5
p.m., Wednesday, February 1.
