Directed Electronics Introduces More Than 150 New Products at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show
VISTA, Calif., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Directed Electronics, Inc. (NASDAQ:DEIX), the largest designer and marketer of consumer branded vehicle security and convenience systems in the United States and a major supplier of car and home audio, mobile video and satellite radio products, introduced more than 150 new products at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show, and was recognized with 3 coveted Innovations Awards.

The awards, for the Executive Docking Station for the SIRIUS Sportster and iPod, 40 Gigabyte Dockable Media Player with a 7 inch LCD screen, and Clifford IntelliGuard 990X 2-Way vehicle security system, bring the company's total to 46 Innovations Awards. Some of the major announcements at the show included:
* One mile range 2-Way keychain remotes using Spread Spectrum Technology,
marketed under the Viper, Python and Clifford brands
* A new Portable Navigation System with 3.5 inch touch screen and MP3
player and new 7 inch and 8.5 inch LCD Tablet DVD players branded
Directed Mobile Media
* 6 new vehicle iPod interfaces for GM, Ford, Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen
* 28 New High Performance Car Audio Amplifiers branded Orion, Precision
Power, West Coast Customs and Xtreme, plus new car audio Speakers and
Subwoofers
* Innovative new OEM Integration interfaces for the digital CAN Bus and
MOST Bus in European vehicles
* Cellular- and web-based GPS Tracking Systems that can locate vehicles on
an internet map, which are now plug-in compatible with Directed security
and remote start systems
* New advanced courses at The Snake Pit mobile electronics school, located
on the Directed Electronics headquarters campus in Southern California
In addition, in a separate listening booth in the South Hall, Directed's Definitive Technology home audio division demonstrated their remarkable new ProCinema home theater loudspeakers.
